When I moved to Kenosha, I was told that I had to love two things to be considered a true Wisconsinite - the Packers and an occasional Brandy Old Fashioned.
During the summer I like to serve this version, sweetened with pure maple syrup.
2 ounces brandy
2 teaspoons 100% pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon soda
1 dash of Angostura bitters
1/8 teaspoon of orange zest
Combine brandy, maple syrup, soda and bitters over ice in a rocks glass; stir together.
Garnish with orange zest.
